Green Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2-inch piece of ginger

  • 2- inch piece of turmeric

  • 1 avocado (peel & pitted)

  • 1-2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries (depending on season) Can alternate raspberries or blueberries

  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves

  • 1 bunch cilantro (cut off stems)

  • 1 bunch parsley (cut off stems)

  • 2 cups of fresh leafy greens: start with arugula or chard. For variety alternate: spinach, watercress, mustard or dandelion greens

  • 3 T. Spirulina or Chlorella powder

  • Water as needed to blend

Directions

Place all ingredients in a large blender and blend! Then pour into six (8 oz.) jars and store in the refrigerator.  You have just made breakfast for the next six days.

The berries are for flavor, change them according to what is in season and for variety, but keep them to a minimum so as not to spike your blood sugar.

Each morning:

Blend  3 T. of flaxseed in the Magic Bullet. Use the largest container that comes with the Magic Bullet.  Then add one jar of green smoothie mixture, ½  teaspoon of cinnamon and 1 to 2 tablespoons of protein powder (I recommend -  *EPIC Protein  - Original flavor).  This should fill the largest Magic Bullet container almost to the top.  Lastly, add enough Almond milk to blend it all together.  I recommend *MALK brand of Almond milk as it is pure without all the fillers.
